5 Reasons NOT To Move To Greater Lansing
1. You might accidentally learn things
2. The amount of green space is a bit suspicious
If you’re looking for the concrete jungle you’ve been conditioned to love, sorry but you’re out of luck. Theres an amazing amount of parks, trails, and rivers in the Greater Lansing area, not to mention Oak Park that looks like you’re on a Smoky Mountain getaway.
3. The Cost of living is unreasonably reasonable
Seriously, Greater Lansing, you’re throwing us off with the lack of chaos here. Affordable living, short commutes, AND plenty of parking?
4. You'll make "michigander" your whole personality
It starts with the neighbors welcoming you – in Midwest Nice fashion – by waving at you across yards when you head out to the local brewery on a Tuesday night, and then you start saying crazy things like “ope” when you get that text you were waiting for and captioning your Instagram posts with “smitten with the mitten” or something odd like that.
5. You'll end up staying forever
First, it’s just a degree or a job, and then you decide to plant roots in Okemos or another suburb, volunteer at the local festivals, take part in the farmers markets, and host the best yard parties with Horrock’s snacks.
Still want to move to Lansing after that? Ugh I guess you’re probably the kind of person who loves the idea of affordable living, a vibrant art scene, and living locally. Gross. You might as well just give us a call and we can start finding the home and community that is right for you in the Greater Lansing area.
Just remember, we tried to warn you, you’ll be using the term “Capitol region” with pride soon enough.
